It'll be a year filled with even more fresh takes on old tunes, exciting events across the country, and appearances by some of the original band members! Pilgrims Progression Remix: Waltz Workshop & Dance
Pilgrims Progression Remix: Waltz Workshop & Dance

Get more info about this event »

Description: Instead of our usual full Pilgrims Progression dance weekend we have collaborated with two nationally recognized dance community greats, Gaye Fifer and Larry Unger, to bring you an evening of virtual waltzing. We will start with happy hour at 6:30pm, for those of you who would like to relax with a drink or a snack and chat online with other music and dance lovers before the event. Next will be the waltz workshop at 7pm, where Gaye will hone our dance skills to take waltzing to the next level. In her course, Beyond the Basics, Gaye will use combinations of basic waltz steps in order to practice variations and possibilities to create new repertoire. Come prepared to work with the challenges of virtual learning. No partner necessary, but you will eventually want to practice with a live person! The renowned Larry Unger will provide music for the entire event: the half hour workshop and an hour of delightful dance music after. You might remember him from when Notorious played for Pilgrims Progression a few years ago! Finally, we want to bring in some of what we enjoy most about dance weekends beyond the dancing, which is to stay online for an after party. We’ll split into breakout rooms, and provide specific info for how to join us at the end of the dance hour. The event will be on the video conference platform (that rhymes with broom) and shared on Facebook Live. If you can’t make it for the live event, the recorded version will be posted on our Facebook page following the event. Since this is a free event, we encourage our viewers to support our musicians with a donation. Links for a virtual tip jar in the comments section of the event.
