Retro Cocktail Hour host Darrell Brogdon is trying his hand at Virtual Cinema a Go-Go night, and we'd love to "see" you there! Friday, May 1, at 7 p.m., KPR is live hosting a watch party for Phantom from Space (1953).

The 2nd annual KPR Mug Design Contest took place this March and KPR received an excellent batch of mug design submissions from local 3rd grade teacher Shane Heiman's class. The students found ways to incorporate the KPR instructions and tied their unique perspective of what Kansas, community connections, and radio looked like to them. Before the pandemic, Mr. Heiman sent the students' designs out to be printed on mugs in the hopes that he'd have them ready upon students' return from spring break. While they were not able to get together again in the classroom, Shane did not let that stop him from brightening students' days by making home deliveries of all of their designed mugs.

First a blizzard/ice storm cancelled our night of Teenage Rebellion and now a pandemic. We are thinking Date Bait and High School Confidential may not be meant to hit the big screen at Liberty Hall again just yet. Unfortunately, due to health and safety concerns for our listeners, members, sustainers, and Cinema a Go-Go fans, we have decided to cancel the April 10 Cinema a Go-Go. We will keep you all updated on the next available date.

Thank you to everyone who submitted an entry into the 2nd Annual KPR Mug Design Contest. The KPR staff was overjoyed with the talent that comes forward in these contests. We had 29 unique designs entered into the competition; KPR selected our top 5 and then 1,249 of you voted, selecting Daniele Green as our winner.

KPR Presents host Kaye McIntyre spent most of her spare time in February in KPR's Studio B helping with the live assist from NPR's coverage of the impeachment, and later in the month, the primaries and caucuses on KPR2. Kaye spent so much time in KPR's Studio B that soon the office was making jokes about her new residence. We interviewed Kaye and asked about her experience during this time.

KPR's conference room is featuring work by local artist Jen Gabriele. Jen's work is a fan favorite around the Kansas Public Radio office. After she had won second place in the 2019 KPR Mug Design Contest, KPR had Jen re-imagine the design to fit our new KPR T-shirts and made a bumper sticker with her original design.
